Now I am excited to volunteer again to help solidify implementation. The Microsoft 365 Defender portal combines protection, detection, investigation, and response to email, collaboration, identity, device, and cloud app threats, in a central place. I thank my fellow work track co-chairs, the PDP co-chairs, Jeff and Cheryl for their leadership. As the ICANN Board has paved the way forward for the Second Round implementation, I feel no greater happiness and reward knowing those efforts and sacrifices helped move us forward. Even after the policy was formulated, I was in doubt whether or not the countless hours I spent sacrificing time away from family and my own sanity were worth it. The countless sleepless nights I had attending calls at 11pm or 5am my time challenged me in many ways to go outside of my comfort zone, help heard cats, and work towards a cause. Looking back at it now, I wondered what 5 years of policy development was worth. At the time I was excited to volunteer to serve in leadership to help pave the way for more brands to apply for their own Top-Level Domain. Not sure if it was my youth at the time, but I was not expecting that role to continue on for as long as it did. About 7 or 8 years ago while washing the dishes and listening to a policy development call, I decided to volunteer to help co-chair one of the work tracks for the Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process. There are no words to express my happiness to have the Second Round of New gTLD applications approved by the ICANN Board and moving forward towards implementation.
